What Is the Express Grant Program?
The Workforce Training Fund Program helps address business productivity and competitiveness by providing resources to Massachusetts businesses to fund training for current and newly hired employees.
In order for the Massachusetts economy to prosper, our businesses need access to a pipeline of skilled workers so they can stay competitive and continue to grow.
The Express Grant is a Massachusetts state program that helps small businesses cover the cost of employee training. If your organization is Massachusetts-based and has fewer than 100 employees on payroll, you may be eligible to receive reimbursed training expenses.
Reimbursement Details
- Up to $300 per instructional hour
- Maximum of $3,000 per person per course
- Any training costs beyond these limits are paid by the business
Reimbursement Amounts by Business Size
- Up to 100% reimbursement for organizations with up to 50 Massachusetts employees
- Up to 50% reimbursement for organizations with 51–100 Massachusetts employees

How Express Grants Reimbursement Works

Apply through the Express Grants portal at least 21 days before training starts.

Receive approval from Commonwealth Corporation before enrolling employees.
